Second recipe for Onam -
Ingredients
Black-eyed Peas - 1/2 cup
Ash Gourd (Winter Melon) - chopped into small cubes, 1 cup
Curry Leaves
Coconut Milk, thick - 1/2 cup
Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Preparation
Cook the black-eyed peas and ash gourd in water together in a pressure cooker, first on high till 3 whistles, and then on low heat for 15 minutes or till the peas are well cooked.
Once cooked, add the salt and let it simmer for a few minutes. Add the thick coconut milk to this and let simmer on low flame till you get the required consistency.
Add the curry leaves and coconut oil, let it boil for a minute and then take off the flame.
Serve and enjoy!
